We all love to spend a little money! It’s fun to walk the aisles at Target, especially during this fall season. Target gives me the emotion of satisfaction, just walking through the doors. It’s my calm! Shopping can be a struggle for moms, whether you need to stick to a budget or you have small children and going to the store is a hassle. Let’s talk about some of my favorite places and strategies to save a little money and make that potentially dreaded shopping trip easier.
Target
Drive Up: this is one of my favorite time saving features of the Target app. You order your items and in two hours (sometimes less) they are ready for pick up. I drive up to the designated area and a crew member puts my groceries in my car. This has been a lifesaver when I have all three children and I don’t want to go into the store. This feature is also great because there is no purchase minimum!
So recently, Target has added the option to order a Starbucks’s drink or food item when you are on your way to pick up your groceries. This feature is available when you are choosing to use the drive up option. This has been a fantastic feature because I’m normally going to both places anyway. So it’s a major time saver! Yes, they bring the Starbucks item to your car with your groceries. Win Win!
Clearly I love all things Target, including their children’s clothes. I love it even more because if I purchase the Cat and Jack brand, when my children outgrow the clothes, I can return the clothes for store credit (with no receipt) or a full refund if you have the receipt. The caveat is that you have to make the return within one year of purchase. We all know how quickly kids grow out of clothes, so this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Costco
If you're like me, then you are a planner. Costco sends out their monthly book of discounted items. This allows me the chance to sit down and plan out my Costco trip. I already take a while to get through Costco but this helps me go a bit faster and stay on budget.
DSW Used Shoe Rewards
Return new or gently worn shoes and get 50 vip points added to your account. The shoes will also be donated to a charity that supplies shoes to those in need. What were you going to do with those old shoes any way?
Children’s Place
Children’s Place is one of the places I like to shop for the children. One of my favorite features is that there is free shipping on every purchase, no purchase minimum.
Amazon Fresh
Prime members in select cities can shop for groceries, everyday essentials, and more with Amazon Fresh. Amazon Fresh offers Attended Delivery and Unattended Delivery, with Pickup options in select cities. Delivery is free for Prime members. What a way to save time!
Every Dollar Budget Tool
The Every Dollar site and application is a tool that my husband and I have been using for a few years now. We use the free version, which allows you to input your income and track all of your expenses for the month.
There is a paid version that allows you to connect your bank account to the site and it will track and log your expenses for you. Then give you a report of your expenses at the end of the month.
Encouragement
Shopping is a necessity and can be done efficiently, especially when you have children. Enjoy those shopping trips and do your best to save some money. As always momma’s YOU GOT THIS!
I love these tips, thank you for sharing.
